Post-Removal Skincare: What to Do in the First 24 Hours

By Jason Ababao · 1 min read · August 19, 2026

Hair removal — however you do it — is a mild trauma to the skin. What you do in the hours right after matters just as much as the method itself.

Skip anything hot. Hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms open pores and increase irritation risk right after removal. Stick to lukewarm water for the first 24 hours.

Avoid direct sun. Freshly treated skin is more sensitive to UV exposure. If you’re heading outside, use a mineral sunscreen and try to stay in the shade where possible.

Apply a calming layer, not a heavy one. This is exactly the moment our Moisturizer is built for — Aloe Vera and Niacinamide help soothe redness and support the skin barrier, without the heaviness of a rich occlusive cream that can trap heat in freshly treated skin.

Don’t touch, pick, or exfoliate. It’s tempting to smooth things over, but mechanical exfoliation in the first day only adds irritation on top of irritation. Let the calming ingredients do their job first.

Follow this window well, and the rest of your routine works better — calmer skin absorbs actives more effectively than inflamed skin does.
